School Based Wellness Centers

Monroe Health Centers’ School-Based Wellness Centers provide a comprehensive array of services aimed at keeping students and staff healthy and productive. The services include acute care and illness walk-in sick visits, sports and annual physicals, well-child visits, care for minor injuries, flu vaccinations, preventative medicine, and family planning. The emphasis is on both treatment and prevention, ensuring that health issues are addressed promptly and that students and staff can focus on their primary tasks. Parents can trust the caring and professional medical staff at Monroe Health Centers to keep them informed about their children’s health, including filling prescriptions at their chosen pharmacy and providing school excuses when necessary.

While students are never charged a co-pay and uninsured students are not charged for services, school staff will be responsible for any co-pay required by their insurance. Monroe Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), and as such, receives HHS funding and is covered under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) for medical malpractice.
