At Monroe Health Center, we are committed to providing expert-led diabetes education to help individuals manage their condition effectively. Our six-month program offers practical tools, expert guidance, and hands-on learning experiences—all at no cost to participants.
Led by Amy Jasperse, RPh, CDCES, CCMS, and Brenda Workman, M.Ed., Food for Life Instructor, each session focuses on medication management, lifestyle modifications, and plant-based nutrition to support long-term health.

Meet the Experts
Amy Jasperse
RPh, CDCES, CCMS
Amy is a Consultant Pharmacist, Diabetes Care Specialist, and Culinary Medicine Specialist. She graduated from Ferris State University College of Pharmacy in 1995 and blends medication management with nutrition and lifestyle care.
Brenda Workman
M.Ed
After homeschooling her four children, Brenda pursued a career in education but felt unfulfilled. Seeking purpose, she discovered her passion for helping others live intentionally. Now, as a Food for Life Instructor, she teaches plant-based nutrition, healthy eating on a budget, and personal growth strategies.
