School Based Wellness Centers

Monroe Health Centers’ School-Based Wellness Centers offer a range of services to keep students and staff healthy, including walk-in sick visits, physicals, well-child checkups, care for minor injuries, flu shots, preventive care, and family planning. They focus on both treatment and prevention, ensuring prompt care so students and staff can stay productive. Parents can rely on professional medical staff for updates on their children’s health, prescription assistance, and school excuses when needed.

Students are never charged a co-pay, and uninsured students receive services at no cost. However, school staff are responsible for any co-pays required by their insurance. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Monroe Health Center receives HHS funding and is covered under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) for medical malpractice.
